NDT Launch Development Programme For Comedy Groups

Continuing our pioneering work supporting new artists, we're launching the first Artist Development Programme for Comedy and Sketch groups as part of our 2016/17 Season.

Some of the UKs most exciting performing talent attracting new audiences, playing with form and taking big risks are up-and-coming comedy groups. Following conversations over the last six months with comedians, promoters, comedy agents and venues, New Diorama is looking to support sketch and narrative comedy groups and we are looking to find our first four NDT Comedy Associates.

We are looking for four brilliant groups who specalise in narrtive, sketch or group comedy. We want to work with these four groups across the next year to develop the UKs first comprehensive artist development programme for comedy groups. We expect to learn a lot from each group during the first year and develop the programme directly from the needs of the groups we support. However, initally, for the chosen four groups, New Diorama is able to offer:

Dedicated Friday and Saturday performance slots at New Diorama throughout our season, with a guarnteed performance fee.
Development and rehearsal space.
Access to New Diorama's new private Writing Room, from October 2016 onwards.
Cash investment into new ideas and projects.

We're sending a team to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to scout for work, we also regularly see shows in London and travel to see performances all around the UK. If you'd like to invite us to see your work please email [email protected].
