Edinburgh Fringe Invites

New Diorama programmes, commissions, produces and presents a year-round programme of public performances, curated by our Artistic Director.

The NDT staff team will be present throughout this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival to scout work for future programming and artist development relationships. If you are a theatre company, making distinctive and exciting theatre, wanting a Central London home – then we’d love to hear from you.

Is this a good fit?

At New Diorama, we support work that is collaborative in nature and often process-led, primarily from independent theatre companies and ensembles. At this time, we are not considering solo shows for our programme.

We are looking for work at this year's festival that resonates with the following values:

  • Collaborative: We are interested in work that is made in non-traditional ways and through collaborative methods. We are interested in distinctive ensemble voices, where a group of collaborators commit to working together over multiple projects to develop a unique style or point of view.

  • Ambitious: We want to see work that is bold, risk-taking, and formally expansive. We are eager to see work that pushes the boundaries of design for fringe spaces. We are seeking artists with the hunger to scale up their work to our stage.

  • Political: We are seeking artists and work that engage directly with global issues, unafraid of diving into and staging the complexity of the world we live in.

  • Heart-led: We are interested in work full of heart and soul, driven by the unique passions of the artists making it.

  • Full-throated: We want to see work that is "said" with your whole chest, in whatever way that manifests. We are looking for artists with clear and distinctive voices that communicate through their work.

We are best placed to support early and mid-career artists, and are scouting for autumn and spring transfer slots as well as a yet-to-be-announced festival. We are also looking to build relationships with artists and companies outside of our current networks, toward future artist development and commissioning opportunities.

We will prioritise seeing work from companies that are led by Black, Asian, and/or Global Majority artists, Disabled or Deaf artists, Working Class artists, and Migrant artists.

If you have read the above information and feel that your show would be a good fit for our programme of activity, please submit your details via the link below.

We are a small staff team and are only able to see the work that best fits our current programming priorities. If we are able to attend, we will be in touch directly.
