Casting announced for Antigone

Holy What announce the cast and creative team for their fresh take on Sophocles' Antigone.

Holy What is a new theatre company founded by writer Lulu Raczka, director Ali Pidsley and producer Imogen Clare-Wood. Formed after their hugely successful production of A Girl in School Uniform (Walks into a Bar), the company have come together to continue creating irreverent character-based new writing pieces that interrogate theatrical form.

Lulu Raczka is one of our favourite writers. She burst onto the scene with NOTHING in 2014. In her â˜…â˜…â˜…â˜… review for The Guardian Lyn Gardner described her as "a voice so distinctive and fully formed it's hard to believe she's so young".

Holy What made their debut show with us last year - A Girl In School Uniform (Walks Into A Bar) - and now they're taking on a classic.

In a searing new adaptation of Sophocles’ timeless battle between right and wrong Lulu hands the reins of the story to the young women at the heart of the play creating something messy, irreverent and vital.

Antigone will be directed by Lulu's longtime collaborator Ali Pidsley (Pops, Some People Talk About Violence, NOTHING).

Antigone will be played by Annabel Baldwin (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Wild Swimming, The Wolves) and Ismene will be played by Rachel Hosker (Left My Desk, GIRLS, The Butterfly Lion).
