We have announced our 2016/17 Emerging Companies Programme groups - chosen from across the UK they represent the best new theatre companies making work today.
In what we think is our best line-up to date, these companies will each recieve a bespoke package of support across our next season, as well as performance opportunities , a small fee and mentoring .
Our chosen ECP Companies for 2016/17 are:
BABEL THEATRE - Manchester-based company, Babel , first performed at New Diorama as part of Incoming Festival 2015 . In 2016, they will also be part of New Diorama's Two Night Stand Scheme.
BREACH THEATRE - Warwick company Breach Theatre had an incredible year in 2015. They transferred their Edinburgh show, The Beanfield , to New Diorama as part of our Two Night Stand Scheme and our NSDF Pickles Fund is supporting this talented company to get them to National Student Drama Festival to showcase their work.
ODD EYES THEATRE - An international and intracultural theatre company, this marks Odd Eye Theatre's first time working with New Diorama.
SILENT UPROAR - Hull-based Silent Uproa r first performed at New Diorama when we transferred their production PIG to London, which was supported by 2017 Hull City of Culture . Since they've become Supported Artists at Hull Truck . In 2016, they will also be part of New Diorama's Two Night Stand Scheme .
SMOKE AND OAKUM - The company first performed at New Diorama with their sell-out hit Cornermen , as part of our Two Night Stand Scheme . New Diorama are currently looking at touring the production with Smoke and Oakum , in association with Red Ladder .
TWO'S COMPANY - Originally from Leeds, Two's Company performed their show Different Is Dangerous at New Diorama. Supported by Tamasha the production went on to tour all across the UK.
