NDT Nominated for 12 Black British Theatre Awards

New Diorama productions are nominated more than any other venue.

The nominations are now in for the 2022 Black British Theatre Awards, with NDT productions picking up a total of twelve nods - more than any other single organisation or venue.

Premiered at New Diorama in 2021 before transferring to the Royal Court Theatre this spring, For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy by Nouveau Riche/Ryan Calais-Cameron is regonised in eight separate categories.

The impressive haul includes Best Production, Best Director (Ryan Calais Cameron and Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu), Best Musical Director (John Pfumojena), Best Movement Director (Theophilus O. Bailey-Godson) and Outstanding Performance In A Play (Emmanuel Akwafo).

Alongside, Passion Fruit by Dior Clarke (premiered at NDT in March 2022 and supported by The PappyShow), is recognised in a further four categories: Best Actor (Dior Clarke), Best Supporting Male Actor (Hayden Mampasi), Best Supporting Female Actor (Charlotte Gosling) and Best Movement Director (Kane Husbands and Mateus Daniel).

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the National Theatre on Sunday 16th October.
