NEW '26: Feral Threads

At a young offenders institute, Tate is one day away from transfer to adult prison.

On his penultimate day, he and his fellow inmates are showcasing their handmade quilts when buried truths begin to unravel and explode. This new play by Rebecca Jade Hammond explores the collision between toxic masculinity and the perceptions of femininity, in order to pose the impossible question; is redemption ever possible?

Part of NEW '26Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’s acclaimed annual new writing festival, NEW, works closely with leading writers and directors on new plays commissioned by the College in association with companies like Paines Plough, Sherman Theatre and Royal Court. Productions premiere at the College’s home in Cardiff before moving to London.
