Calling all theatre companies, makers, devisers, and collaborators: get that little napkin tucked in. We’ve been cooking. Free space lotteries, solidarity grants, company surgeries, a workshop series designed by makers for makers – NDT returns as the premier destination for ensemble work , with all of your favourite artist support antics plus a piping hot batch of new programmes in tow.
As support for theatre makers becomes increasingly scant, we’re hearing more than ever from artists reaching out for advice, a sounding board, or just a conversation about next steps.
That’s why we offer regular surgeries: a chance to meet the New Diorama team and chat about what’s on your mind.
We are continuing our monthly Artist Surgeries , open to anyone looking for guidance, advice, or a chat with someone from the team.
New for 2025, Company Formation Surgeries are open to anyone looking to talk more specifically about the nuts and bolts of setting up your own company, covering everything from first steps to legal status.
You can get priority access to our surgeries by joining our new Artist Newsletter - keep scrolling for the sign-up link.
Running your own theatre company is hard enough without the bureaucracy, cost, and uncertainty of dealing with the UK's hostile immigration system. Migrant artists are crucial to our stages and our sector , which is why we're doing what we can to help alleviate the barriers you're facing.
Throughout this season, we will be distributing grants of £500 to migrant theatre makers within our remit to ease the burden of visa, legal, and other bureaucratic costs affecting migrants navigating UK immigration.

Bold new ideas take time and space to develop, but we live in a city where space comes at a premium. At New Diorama, we champion the art of collaboration, which is why we're teaming up with Theatre Deli in search of long-term solutions to a chronic problem.
This autumn, we're launching The Allotment , offering free R&D and rehearsal space in Central London to independent artists, with no strings attached. Building on the legacy of NDT Broadgate, these spaces will be offered through lottery selection , democratising access to a much-needed resource.
The first season of The Allotment runs from 29th September - 19th December. Applications are now open via a simple form at the bottom of this page, with a deadline of 15th September.
