Announcing our Reset Season

We're back with our Reset Season, we'll be opening our doors on 20th July for the first time in over a year. In the lineup are five brilliant shows to get you through the summer.

There's so much to catch up on, let's just get down to business.

We're back with our Reset Season! From an immersive show taking place just minutes from the theatre, to a long awaited Edinburgh transfer, we can't wait to welcome you back to see the best ensemble-led work.

But that's not all! We've also been secretly working with a crack team of theatre freelancers to completely re-imagine our public spaces. What they've done is incredible, and we're sharing the designs and their thinking for the first time. You can find out more on our CafÃ© Page.

Finally, next week we are announcing the most ambitious artist development programme we could imagine and then, later in the summer, we will reveal our full 10th Anniversary Season. In short: we're back, we're raring to go, we’re not going anywhere and we’re just getting started.

More than ever before New Diorama, is the home for the best new theatre companies that want a big canvas to re-imagine the world. Our stage may be small, but the scale of our artistic vision and impact is not. But this isn't a return to how it was before or the old way. This is a new beginning, a reset, and we'd love for you to join us.

CRISIS? WHAT CRISIS? - 20 July - 21 August, 2021

Following their sell-out, five star run in 2019, NDT transfer Parabolic Theatre's hit show CRISIS? WHAT CRISIS to Central London for a strictly limited five-week run.

It's 1979. Jim Callaghan's Labour Government has a working majority of zero. Parliament is deadlocked. The workers are on strike. Your advice will change the country forever.

You and your fellow parliamentary advisers are gathered in a neglected office building, away from the press. Your job is to avert disaster.

From pioneering youth theatre-makers Company Three comes a vibrant, thrilling tribute to the most important birthday of them all....

Everyone remembers their eighteenth birthday... unless it takes place during a pandemic.

Now, eight ‘brand-new’ eighteen-year-olds invite you to the birthdays that got taken away by lockdown.

The parties that didn't happen, the rites of passage that were never completed, the memories that were never made. A chance to celebrate, reminisce and mark the beginning of a new era in their lives.

CIVILISATION - 27 July - 7 August, 2021

Acclaimed for its sell-out premiere at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe, CIVILISATION now receives its long-overdue London run.

A day in the life of a woman following a tragic event. With music by ABBA and Bach.

A hairdryer, an oven, a letter opener. The local church, fiscal policy and Marie Kondo’s folding technique.

Civilisation is about the things we’ve lost and the things we’ve built.

GIRLS - 17 - 21 August, 2021

A diverse, inter-generational ensemble of women unearth the girls they were and shine a light on the women they have become.

Spanning decades of lived experience, GIRLS is a whole-hearted dance of what it felt like to be a girl and a reclamation of all things loved, lost, desired and fought for.

Raucous, tender and unapologetic. Someone else can tidy up.

EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED 20 & 21 July / July-August, School & Community Settings

Finally, in response to the upset and uncertainty of the last year, New Diorama have commissioned NDT Associate Ensemble Rhum + Clay to create a show built for school and community settings for 7-11 year olds. .

The world has ever so slightly shifted. Things are... different, skewed, off kilter and no one else has noticed. Time feels strange and no one day is the same. Wait. Was that an actual zebra crossing the zebra crossing?

Using storytelling, inventive staging and original music, award-winning theatre company Rhum + Clay create a fast-moving adventure in response to the chaos of the last year - allowing young people to take stock and share hopes for the future.
